How To Make A Spring Bird Nest Wreath

Today I am sharing this easy to make Spring Bird Nest Wreath.

If you find yourself longing for Spring as I am, this wreath will put the Spring feel right at your front door.

For several weeks I have been trying to decide how I could add a spring look to the house.  I think this wreath is the perfect spring decor.  Its simple, greenery with the added charm of the little bird’s nest nestled in the magnolia leaves is the perfect touch of early spring.

Here is what you will need:

14″ grapevine wreath

5 ft green leaf garland

Moss

Glue gun

Glue Gun Sticks

Wire cutters

Brown Twine

Bird Nest

Bird Eggs – small

Creating the Wreath

Start by wrapping the garland around the wreath.

I used two pieces of twine to hold the garland in place.

I did find that the 5′ garland was to long so I cut off about 12″.

Once the garland was in place I glued some of the leafs to the wreath to give it a more tamed look.  I then added the bird nest and eggs.

Once I have the magnolia greenery  and bird nest arranged I then added some pieces of moss, just here and there.

Do not overdo the moss, remember we are wanting it to have that natural look.

I love the look of the little blue eggs.  I tried white but I liked these better.

In Conclusion

This bird nest wreath probably took about 30 minutes to make.  The cost was around $30 – $35.

Finding some of the items on sale will keep your cost down and you make have a grapevine wreath already around your house which would help with the cost

I hope this has inspired you to try making your own wreath. It really is fun to make your own decor.

Don’t forget to Pin for later.

That is such a pretty wreath BonBon. I love the use of the greens, they look like laurel leaves to me. We actually use the laurel leaves on Palm Sunday so it can also be a spiritual wreath. Thank you for the inspiration.

Hello from Bangkok, where some Spring weather would also be a delight! This bird’s nest is right up my Little Wren street. We have just had the excitement of having some birds nest on our balcony, we’re up really high so it is a thrill that they found us, we are hoping for 3 blue eggs! You’ve nailed it for me with this post! Loved it.

I was walking around my house as I do every morning and evening and I found a birds nest on the ground. I took it in the house and was trying to decide what to do with it when I came across your website. I am going to use your idea and use a few more things I found laying around the yard like birds feathers, empty snail shells and some old wasp nests. I hope mine looks as good as yours when I finish it.
