So today along with my blogger friends we are sharing our Tips and Thoughts on the Best Indoor Plants.
My experience over the years with plants has been good and bad.
Through the years two plants have become my favorite indoor plants based on beauty and ease of care.
Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum)
As a popular indoor plant, the peace lily grows best in medium to low light. No direct sunlight.
The Peace Lily will produce white flowers with medium light.
If the plant is placed in lower light conditions it may not produce any flowers but should still thrive.
As you can see in my photos of this plant it does get large. There are smaller varieties so be aware of what size works in your space.
Big glossy leaves make this plant a real beauty.
Airplane Plant or Spider Plant
The Airplane or Spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum), is considered one of the most adaptable of houseplants and the easiest to grow.
I sometimes forget to water my plant, but it is very forgiving.
The only problem it usually has is some brown tips on the leaves.
This plant can grow in a wide range of conditions and suffers from very few problems.
In the spring the plant gets small white flowers which then turn into small new plants for propagating.
This is where the name comes from Spider or Airplane plants because of the little starts that spout.
These plants are available in green or variegated varieties.
It prefers indirect sunlight.
Let the plants dry out some between waterings and make sure the pot has good drainage.
Because the Spider Plant is so easy to care for this is my #1 pick as Best Indoor Plant.
