BACK TO BASICS

I have joined with some of my Blogger Friends for this new monthly series, hosted by 2 Bees in a Pod and The Crowned Goat. We will be sharing our own step by step tips and ideas on how  we achieve our individual style and look.

This first months theme is:  Summer Tablescapes.  Is there anything better than summer and food and when you put them together.

Let’s take a look at my idea for a Summer Tablescape

I usually start my table settings with a theme or color scheme in mind. I wanted this setting to give the vibe of a summer table.

Adding a touch of Farmhouse

To add a farmhouse feel I used my burlap table runner as the base. Then I added my center focus piece which was  an Italian glass jar. I placed faux wild flowers, white & coral blooms and daisies. This is not my real wild flowers but the real ones will be in bloom soon. It wouldn’t be summer time at the farmhouse without a wildflower bouquet.

Summer Love

My current love for serving summer time drinks is Copper Mule Mugs. Don’t you just love the look……

I remember when I first saw one of these copper beauties sometime last year, we were dining out and I saw someone with a copper mug. I didn’t know what drink was in the mug but I wanted one just because it looked so pretty. So I purchased some of my own and have lots of enjoyment drinking and serving with these mugs. I love the copper color, it is so appealing to me.

Lemon & Limes and a Palm Leafs are ways to add a summer, look and feel to any table.  I happen to see a palm plant being discarded at work so I grabbed the leaves before they made it to the dumpster. If you would like a similar look HERE is a option.

These are the items I used to pull the place setting together for your summer table.  I shopped my kitchen cabinets.

Yellow Linen Napkins – I found my yellow linen napkins at an estate sale, but you can get a set here.

White Plates – I have had these forever…..This is the set I have been hinting to my husband that I would love to get soon.

All Set For Fun

There you have it…..Simple and fun summer idea……So easy to put together a pretty summer table….nothing crazy or expensive. In fact, everything I used for this tablescape I already had except the lemons and limes. Look around you home and see what you come up with . You can create a look that is unique.  Have fun with it.
