RUG REVIEW THINGS TO CONSIDER

Hi Friends……Today I wanted to give you a quick review on the area rug I purchased for our living room.

Since moving into our new home in January, I am finding that a lot of the items we had in our other home are not in my design vision I have for the new house, and one of those items was the area rug for the front room.

This is the area rug from the other house.

White or Light Colored Rug

Two issues were the color and the size. I had envisioned a lighter/whiter look for the new house.

So after deciding to get something new I now needed to decide what size, exact color and type of rug would be best.

Type of Rug

Second, I wanted something that our cat would not damage.

He sometimes uses the rugs as a scratching post, so that meant no loop type.

Price

Third, was the price.  I couldn’t afford something that was crazy expensive.

So after a lot of research I finally found a rug in my price range, quality, size I needed and the color I wanted.

My Pick

The Safavieh Adrondack Collection Rug in 9 feet by 12 feet, fit all my must have’s.

The description for this item was ivory but it is really more of a white.

First I put down the pad for the new rug. Here is my little fur helper, Tuco trying out the pad.

The pile length is about 1/4 inch.  

When walking on this rug bare foot is it super soft….that is one of the best features

I chose this rug partially because of the vintage distressed look.  

I did want to point out that the pattern is printed on the rug, not woven.

Here is the before look and now the after look.  It did take several weeks for the rug to completely flatten out. 

Here you can see that the rug flattened out nicely.
