Today I wanted to share my latest project >>>>Drop Cloth Numbers Pouf. This pouf has been on my Project list since Spring.
As I thought about this project I looked at lots of different fabrics, but nothing really caught my fancy. Then inspiration struck and I decided to use drop cloth and paint large numbers on each panel

I am happy I went with this idea. OK so let’s just jump right in to the details of making the drop cloth pouf.
Supplies List
Fiberfill
Foam Board (optional)
Stencil Paint Brush
Number Stencils
Instructions
You can buy stencils or make your own. The numbers measure>>>>> 12″ inch x 9 ” inch
Once the numbers were painted and dry then it was time to put the pouf together
I made a pattern for the pouf panels from form board measuring 20 x 20
Panels
You will need 6 panels. Begin by sewing the 4 side panels side by side
Next, sew the top panel to the sides
Now sew the bottom panel to the sides leaving an opening for the fiberfill
Filling The Pouf
NOTE: You can use scrap material or old pillows if you want more weight.
I bought new bed pillows a few months ago and I kept two of my older pillows, after I washed and dried them, to use in my pouf. It really gives the pouf a little more stability. Take note that if you only use fiberfill the pouf is like a big pillow.
My mother made a pouf and my father thought it was like a solid foot stool and tried to sit on it….Ha..it went straight to the floor with him on it. Some funny stuff!
Stuff the Pouf
Take sections of the fiberfill and insert into the pouf. Make sure to fill each corner. Continue to fill from top to bottom. Once filled take a look to make sure it is filled out as you like. If you like how your pouf looks, hand sew the opening closed
There you go.

Sum It Up
Very few supplies needed. Mainly your drop cloth and fiberfill. Paint if you don’t already have some on hand. Form board if you want to make a pattern and number stencils. Painting the numbers takes time but it is so worth it. Sewing the pouf only takes about 30 minutes. Stuffing the pouf approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

New to sewing, so I apologize for questions most would know…
Is the foam board being used inside the pouf? Or simply as a pattern – did you use it for the stencils? If so, do you mean you cut the stencils into the foam board?
You used bed pillows as fill; do you mean you used the stuffing inside the pillows?
I want to make this, but don’t want it to look round. You mention that only using fiberfill will make it look like a large pillow, I am not sure how you achieve and maintain the square shape. Many thanks for any info! LOVE THIS!
