I thought it would be fun to take a snapshot look at three interior design styles that cover nautical, farmhouse and bohemian. Each nutshell provides you with a typical inspiring vision that each style desires to achieve, concerning the theme, colors, and accessories for your own kitchen design endeavors.
Nautical
Mostly a seaside signature look which encapsulates the use of colors derived from that present on a typical sailors uniform; blue, white and gold/yellow. The tone of a nautical kitchen exhibits a bright, clean, fresh appearance in the day and a warm, inviting environment at night.
The kitchen island may replicate the accent color of bold royal blue, with a white marble surface resting on the surface, sourced from stores such as World stone to add a brush of elegance. The wall color tends to exhibit neutral hues of white, ivory or oatmeal, and the remainder of cabinet doors are also in keeping with the walls.
Brass cup handles or round knobs are found sitting on the cabinets, and either a polished or distressed wooden floor beneath you represents a boardwalk along the seaside or a deck on a ship. To fulfill the playful aspect of nautical design, an anchor is likely to be found in the kitchen as either an art piece, such as on a painting or even a replica anchor carved out of distressed wood.
Farmhouse
This style known for its traditional atmosphere tends to include the use of oak wood as chunky kitchen surfaces, flooring, dining pieces, and ceiling beams. This is offset against the subtle background of neutral cupboard doors usually found in soothing shades of white or cream.
Although those opting to modernize their farmhouse look with a contemporary interior for a rustic/industrial appeal may ramp up the style with charcoal greys. You may expect to find a deep farmhouse sink in the color white and favorably a double hob, marking this room as a place where family feasts ensue.
To complete this look, a tall vase of flowers plucked from the countryside sit effortlessly on the kitchen worktop, as with any interior style greenery always adds a perfect breaking point in most designs with plants to suit any style. All aspects that equate to the farmhouse appeal harmony to enable the creation of a warm, inviting environment.

Bohemian
A relaxing, free-flowing feel is the theme of a kitchen with bohemian traits, the premise being to create a kitchen with no boundaries in color, from vibrant teals to splashes of red, a whole palette of color is welcomed and the bolder, the better.
Cooking/philosophy books, fresh herbs, and pots of spices, candles, clay cups, and ivy plants are found draped over shelves, worktops and window sills. This look eradicates the boundaries set by other kitchen styles which demand a clean cut, no clutter appearance.
Geometric colorful patterns are found on rugs in front of the sink and under the dining table. The bohemian kitchen represents an eclectic collection of mismatched items. If you summon these together correctly it actually works to create a cozy atmosphere, one filled with a love of cooking, life, and personality.
