Exercise is something we all know we should do, but when it comes to actually committing to a routine, it’s easier said than done! You’ve got a very busy schedule, and plenty of other exhausting responsibilities to keep up with, and you just haven’t got the time to go for a jog or lift those weights on your bedroom floor. So, what can you do here? Well, we’ve got some handy tips for fitting in some exercise that you may not have thought of down below.
Take a Stand Sometimes
How often do you stand around during the day? Probably not a lot; we like to sit down when we have nothing much to do, and then there are the long days we spend at desks too! On average we spend about 6 hours a day sitting down, and that’s just not good for the back. So make sure to stand up and take a few steps every half hour or so. Stretch your legs and get the blood flowing back down there!

Walk Some of the Distance
Take the bus often? Maybe you should get off a stop or two earlier than you usually do, to ensure you can walk some of the way home. Or if you’re someone who drives most of the time, parking the car a block or two away from where you’re going (such as work) is a good way to wake you up before you have a long day ahead of you.
Join a Physical Course
If you’re on a physical training course, you’ve got no excuse but to do some exercise! And there are many different exercise courses you can go on – for example, you can pick up a few sessions tai teacher training online to help you get in touch with your energetic flow. But if that’s not your thing, you can also try out a weightlifting or yoga video course; there’s something for everyone. This way you’ll be able to consistently work out at least 3 times a week, and you’ll soon find yourself falling into the habit of exercising without having to think about it.
Stretch Before Bed
Finally, it’s always a good idea to stretch before you get into bed. A long night of laying still, in one position, can make your back ache and your legs restless. So to help lessen the impact here, it’s a good idea to try out a few neck stretches, and Yoga positions such as Child’s Pose. Make sure you take a couple of minutes to stretch out your hips and legs as well; these positions are usually quite gentle and won’t take much out of you when you’re already tired, so try to get yourself into the habit!
Conclusion
If you want to fit more exercise into your routine, all you need to make are some small changes. A bit of standing here, a bit of stretching there and you’ll feel a lot better about your mind and body.
