Even if you love your home decor, most of us get the urge to refresh our decor with the start a new season. As the cooler weather changes, so does my feelings of wanting roaring fires, hot chocolate, and snuggling into a cozy blankets.
Come fall everything outside changes to a lovely array of yellows and rustic orange colors. I tend to look to nature for my home decor inspiration.
If you have been following along then you know that I am normally very neutral in my decor colors. My base is colors are neutral, mainly white furniture or off white, which allows for adding colors and textures so easily.
Fall to me is all about textures and warm colors! Let’s take a look at how I brought some warm, rust colors to my decor with simple easy accessories with color and texture.
Fall is the perfect time for me to make my home warm, cozy and inviting for the season ahead. That means adding texture and color with fabrics — throws, pillows. These deep rust color pillows add warm color and beautiful texture for a relaxed yet refined look.
The number one advantage to having a neutral home decor palette is you can add and change out your accessory colors and it works beautifully.

Add Natural Elements
Nothing says fall quite like an array pumpkins & fall leaves. There are so many ways that you can utilize these fall favorites to add a touch of warmth to your home.
It doesn’t really need to be a lot of pumpkins & natural elements to get the fall feel.
I went to my yard for a tree branch with colored leafs and added a few faux white pumpkins that I already had to my ottoman tray.
Summary of Items
2 – 12 x 18 pillows, 2 – 20 x 20 pillow, 8 – small faux pumpkins (varying sizes), fuzzy throw, tree branch from my yard. So the only items that are new are the 4 pillows.
Final Thoughts
New textures in soft furnishings are a great way to bring about feelings of coziness and contentment; just perfect for fall.
A fuzzy or wool throw, a few rust or brown warm-toned pillows, faux or real pumpkins placed around your room, colored leaf branches, all inexpensive ways to make your home look expensive and seasonal.
