4. Inspect Fireplaces & Chimneys
If you’re lucky enough to have fireplaces and chimneys in your home, then it’s worth appreciating them. It’s also worth making sure they get the attention they deserve.
A lot of dirt and soot could build up in these, and there might even be a bit of damage. In time, these could pose more and more of a risk. At best, it’ll lead to smoke spreading around your home when you set a fire. At worst, it could lead to the fire itself spreading.
Check your fireplaces and chimneys for any dirt and debris, and clean them out regularly.
5. Touch Up The Paint
One of the more common home maintenance tasks you can do is to touch up the paint. It makes sure your walls and other areas don’t show signs of wear and tear.
At the same time, it’ll make everything look fresher and nicer. It’s probably something you’ll want to do when you first get your new home, and there’s no point in not giving it a go. You can even do this yourself, as long as you’re willing to spend a little time on it. It just takes some elbow grease.
