Today I wanted to share some quick tips to create a vignette.
The first couple of times I created a vignette the hardest part was just getting started…
I was afraid it would look bad….I felt like I wasn’t creative enough.
Don’t listen to those negative thoughts……. Just start and you will see that it will come together.
Here are my quick tips to help you get started and to create a lovely vignette for your table.
Come on give it a try…..it is so much fun!
You know the old saying.. “Practice makes perfect.”
TRAY AS THE BASE
Pick a container for your vignette.
A tray works nicely with its low sides.
Gather a few items that you think you may want in your vignette.
Candles, dishes, flowers, plants, books, birdcage, etc.
CREATE DIFFERENT HEIGHTS….
I add my tallest item first and then add items around it.
Stack your items in a way that creates different heights. I used a glass pedestal to place my flower-pot on.
See how it creates height in the vignette.
I wanted this vignette to say Spring so I used light colors.
The green and white feel Springy and fresh and then by adding the terra-cotta pot it really gives that spring feel.
The wood tray pulls the entire vignette together with a natural feel.
If you would like to make your own Cafe Pots all the details are here: Terra Cotta Cafe Pots
DON’T CLUTTER THE SPACE
If I counted the items in this vignette it would seem like a lot, but looking at the items they blend together and work well.
So I don’t like to use a number and say “only use this many items when making a vignette” because it all depends on what works together and the size of the items, tray, etc.
I prefer the less is a better method and do not like making spaces feel cluttered.
There you have it. Simple and pretty.
Do you decorate with vignettes? What items do you use? I would love to hear from you in the comment section below.
Thanks for spending some time with me today. See you soon.
