Its always nice to find ways to make cute little decorations without spending lots of money.

With that Day 5 theme is Dollar Store Craft.  Can’t get much more thrifty than that. LOL

Mini Christmas Tree – Dollar Store Craft

I am always looking for cute items that just need a little tweaking here are there.

How about you?  Do you see products and think, boy if only this had that or it didn’t have that?

Well these little trees caught my eye at the Dollar Store.  I almost missed them because they were way up on the top shelf, but lucky me….I spied them

They are pretty simple, let’s say a diamond in the rough…..ok maybe not that drastic but you get the picture

I grabbed 3 and then later I wished I had more but as you know when you go back for something it is gone…..

So now on to the mini trees

The Skirt

As you can see in the picture the bottom of the trees had a cement base

Not real attractive.

My first thought was to paint the base

Then I decided a burlap sack look would be cute.

I used burlap but you could use whatever fabric you like.

I cut a diameter of about 6 “, enough to pull up and then tie.

After cutting your fabric gather up and tie with twine or ribbon

Finish

That is it.  Can you believe it is that easy?

I know, Right?

The only thing left to do is find that perfect place for each of the trees.  How about on a window sill or on the kitchen counter?  

I set my trio of mini trees on the stairs.  I think they look adorable here.
