Farmhouse Master Bedroom – Welcome back to Week Four of the One Room Challenge! Wow, this has been a non-stop process. Any free time from work and chores, I have been working on my master bedroom makeover. If this is your first visit for the One Room Challenge. You can check out Week 1, Week 2, and Week 3.
This is the look of the Master Bedroom when I started the ORC Challenge.
I am reupholstering a wing back chair that I purchased at a yard sale. You might remember that one of my ideas for the room was to creating a reading corner. A white chair was needed for that area. In case you haven’t seen the previously weeks here is the chair I purchased at a yard sale.
Things to consider when buying a used chair…..It needs to have a good sturdy frame. You can replace everything on the chair from the bottom up if the frame is good.
Down to the bare bones.
Here is the chair progress. After removing all the old fabric, I had to cut out the pieces, using the old fabric as a pattern. It turns out there was a lot more sewing involved than I anticipated. More on the chair later.
We are building a sliding barn door for the master bedroom doorway that goes into the master bath.
See the doorway on the left of the photo, that is the master bath & walk- in closet area where the sliding barn door will go. This has been on our DIY To Do list since moving in this past January. I will be so happy to get this installed.
Here is my To Do List – Master Bedroom Makeover ORC.
