A Story of a Farmhouse Basement.
Fast Forward……after meetings, debuts, hiring experts, firing Building Contractors, hiring new ones…we are standing here today overlooking our Finished Basement. WooHoo!
Wow! It has been a long hard road just to get to this point….what an understatement! For you that do not know we had a basement put in last August – September 2014….we had it demolished and removed in January 2015 and started the new construction that same month.
You are probably “Say WHAAAAT”? yes I know it is unheard of, we couldn’t believe that this could happen. The structural Engineer rendered it unsafe to build on and that is beside the fact that it looked horrible.
When a “girl” as in me, walks up and looks at the new front porch and instantly knows something is
screwed up horribly wrong…well you know there is a problem since I do not know one concrete block from another…..but hubs does know about concrete, so when he was basement it was “Houston we have a problem” and all work was stopped.
Ok ……persaverance is what it takes in today’s world to get things done right…..be strong…..drink coffee…..DO NOT ACCEPT POOR WORK….drink coffee….don’t let up….drink wine…ok and talk with your attorney…put the pressure on the people who need to make it right. PUSH – PUSH – PUSH!!!! Stay strong and it will get done. You know that old saying “the squeaky wheel gets the oil” or something like that…it is so TRUE.
NOW LET”S MOVE FORWARD… Stay tuned!
