3 Ways to get what you really want for Christmas!

Are you saying…..Isn’t that a bit rude, to drop hints? Should you leave it to chance and see what happens……AHHHH No!

We all know how that works….most times it doesn’t and money is spent on something you really do not want, like or need.

I know I do not like wasting money, to think that you have bought someone something they do not want and will go to waste can be even more frustrating.

Would you rather be told what to get someone?  It saves time, headaches and hours of stressing and walking around the mall.  So let’s get to it and start dropping those hints and get ourselves something we really want and need this year.

KNOW WHAT YOU WANT?

1.   FIRST you need to know what you want

So when you are asked by family and friends you know what to say. Same goes for them.

Stuck for ideas?   Make a list and then narrow it down to items and price range that you know will work. So Create your Wish List.

You can give them gift ideas of what you would like without being exact if you are one that loves surprises.

Men really do want to get you something you like.  Help them out so they do not have to stress and you don’t get something you really do not like.  Just because you have complained about the vacuum cleaner for months doesn’t mean you want one for Christmas but he may take it that way, so make it easy for him by saying what you would like.

2. GO SHOPPING TOGETHER.

So your partner has been asking for months “what do you want for Christmas this year?” Ask for their opinion.  While out shopping show them things you like and that way they get an idea of things you would like to receive.

3. STRAIGHT OUT SHOW THEM WHAT YOU WANT.  EASY FOR THEM EASY FOR YOU.

This is probably the easiest for the gift giver……Mark items in a catalog or make a wish list online with retailers that you love and then share the wish list location with the ones that want to know.

Years ago I asked my husband what he wanted for Christmas…..his answer was “I don’t know”  I commented  that he really needed to give me some hints or I would be left to my own ideas  and it would probably result in something that he REALLY didn’t want (socks, underwear etc.)

I have been guilty of the same thing, just saying “I don’t know. ” 

Now we make a list for each other and put several items that we would like to receive as gifts. We then pick a couple of things from the list, that way there is still the element of being surprised of which item I will get, but I also know that it will be something I REALLY WANT.
